Sermon 29 March 2009
"Confession"
Sunday Morning
Richard Hildreth
This week Pastor Hildreth started a series on Sin.
The text was from James 5:13-16; I Corinthians 11:28-31
Some key points from the sermon
-
It is important to confess your sins one to another.
- We have sinned, we have broken our fellowship with God, and we may harden our hearts
-
When a person is in sin they are blind and sick.
-
When we are sick, we may not act, think, or respond the way that we should.
-
In sin sometimes we are unable to acknowledge our sin.
-
Like a sickness, sin can be contagious.
-
Healing comes when we understand and acknowledge the sickness
-
We need to be accountable. We need to be able to share, communicate, and be corrected.
-
Salvation is only the first step on a life-long journey.
