Sermon 29 March 2009

"Confession"

Sunday Morning

Richard Hildreth

This week Pastor Hildreth started a series on Sin.

The text was from James 5:13-16; I Corinthians 11:28-31

Some key points from the sermon

  1. It is important to confess your sins one to another.
  2. We have sinned, we have broken our fellowship with God, and we may harden our hearts
  3. When a person is in sin they are blind and sick.
  4. When we are sick, we may not act, think, or respond the way that we should.
  5. In sin sometimes we are unable to acknowledge our sin.
  6. Like a sickness, sin can be contagious.
  7. Healing comes when we understand and acknowledge the sickness
  8. We need to be accountable.  We need to be able to share, communicate, and be corrected.
  9. Salvation is only the first step on a life-long journey.
