Sermon 22 March 2009
"The Intentional Life"
Sunday Morning
WMs
This week our WMs spoke on living life intentionally
The text was from Ephesians 5:15-17
Some key points
-
Patti Hildreth spoke about praying with purpose. "People pray; God Moves; Miracles happen". She told a testimony of a mother praying for a daughter who had a brain tumor, and there was a miraculous healing. Glory to God!
- Elizabeth Newkirk expressed disappointment at not being able to be there. She is in our prayers. She told us to "Learn to laugh at yourself".
- Debbie Wilson used the (not so) visual aide of a metronome to illustrate her point that "Time is ticking away, be wise about the symphony you and the Lord create" She likened our Christian walk to a musical arrangement that God directs. We must work in God's time.
- When we march to our own beat instead of Gods, we mess everyone up.
- We must be on purpose for a symphony or a band, or marching band, so we must be on purpose for God
- We need to intentionally pass on our faith to family.
- We need to know how to pray, read the word, and teach our children how to do those things as well as choose a spouse and other major life decisions.
- Etta Hampton closed with "The Intentional Life Knows That Every Choice Counts" We must do things according to the word of God and live according to what God wants us to do.
- God does not want anyone to perish John 6:38-40
