"God Will Interrupt Our Lives"

    This week guest speaker Dick Van Huss spoke his heart on world missions.

The text was from Jeremiah 29:11

Some key points from the sermon

  1. God is calling him to be a missionary
  2. Using non-traditional means of educating people to become pastors and leaders.
  3. These methods were develped and adapted from work on the Kentucky School of Ministry.
  4. If we are to see the harvest we must be prepared for it.
  5. There may be sacrifices and hard times, but God provides the means.
  6. God is working in ways and places we do not typically expect.

Mr. Van Huss gave a number of illustrations and reports of God working all over the world.  Praise The LORD!

"Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing"

    This evening Mr Van Huss spoke on Redeeming lost souls.  He again used many wonderful testimonies to illustrate his main points.

Key Scriptures: Romans 3:23 ; Romans 6:23 ; Hebrews 9:27

Some key points:

  1. The main thing is redeeming lost people to the Lord.
  2. Sin is a key issue.
  3. Sin is that which separates us from God. 
  4. Sin by its nature is destructive
  5. God hates sin
  6. We must not be functional athiests.  We can not be believers who act like there is not God.
  7. God wants to save people.
  8. We must act in faith.  We must reach out.  We must pray for, and then witness to people.
  9. It is not an offense to speak the truth and share your faith.  As long as it is done in love, not judgement.
